Make and decorate a minimum of three weather-themed cupcakes. The decorations are up to you and entries will be judged on originality, visual impact, proportion, use of colour and neatness. There will be prizes for two age categories: 7–10 years and 11–14 years.

Please note that individuals may enter up to a maximum of two entries per competition class and maximum of two classes.

This price also includes two complementary exhibition entry tickets per person for Saturday only. Attendance on Sunday will require additional tickets.

Additional Information

Class Rules
  1. The entry should be presented on a round plate or suitable cake stand and contain a minimum of 3 cakes.
  2. The cakes can be of any shape and size and should be plain (which may be flavoured or coloured, but not containing nuts).
  3. Decorative work may include any edible medium such as royal icing, sugarpaste (rolled fondant), pastillage, marzipan, flower paste, modelling chocolate or a combination of these mediums. If you are using silver, or other metallic or glitter colour on your cake it must be edible. Some glitters and metallic colours are classed as non-toxic and these are not edible).If using edible metallic or glitter dusts please leave a note with your entry to advise the judges which colour & brand you have used.
  4. Competitors may model decorations by hand, such as sugar buds, flowers, foliage, twigs, fruit, berries, nuts, fungi, animals, birds, fish, people and figures (normal or comical).
  5. Commercial decorations (e.g. sweets/candy etc.) are permitted in moderation.
  6. Base of exhibit must fit within a 10" (25cm) square; there is no height restriction.
  7. This class is a freestyle design. Decorations may include anything with a weather theme.
  8. Child’s age (but not name) is to be displayed with the exhibit, the child’s age will be taken into consideration when the piece is being judged.
  9. Competitors will be judged on: originality of design and visual impact; proportion; use of colour; neatness of execution.
